GRILLED TEMPEH WITH TAHINI SAUCE

WHAT IS TEMPEH?

Tempeh is a product made of fermented soybeans. It is a great vegan protein source> every 100 gramos it provides 19 grams of protein and less than 200 calories. In consequence, tempeh is an ideal vegan protein, very complete and super nutritious.

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 tempeh fillets
  • 2 tbsp of Tahini
  • 1 tbsp of soy sauce
  • 1 tsp of miso paste
  • 2 tsp of agave/honey/date syrup
  • 1 tsp of garlic powder
  • A pinch of ginger powder
  • Water, as required
  • Hymalayan salt and pepper

 

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Mix all ingredients but the seitan with a fork and beat until well integrated. Add water for it to be a bit more liquid – the idea is to get the texture of a salad dressing. Play around with the sauce ingredients: you can add a bit of peanut butter, ginger,etc. – use your imagination! This is just a base…
  2. Grill the tempeh on both sides (putting a little bit of oil on the grill) for about 5 minutes each side.
  3. Serve with the sauce on top and a nice side salad.
