2 seitan bistecs
1 red onion
3 tbsp of cane sugar (and a bit more for the onion)
3 tbsp of soy sauce
A small piece of grated ginger
1 tsp of granulated garlic
1 tbsp of agave/date syrup
2 tbsp of apple cider vinegar
3 tbsp of ketchup or tomato paste
2 tbsp of cornstarch

1.For the sauce: mix the sugar, vinegar, garlic, soy sauce, agave, apple cider vinegar and ketchup in a saucepan. In a separate bowl, mix the cornstarch with a bit of water using a fork and reserve.
2.Stir the sauce, add the ginger and garlic, and mix until it starts boiling - then add the bowl mix and stir until thickened, reducing the heat so it doesn't get burned!
3.Cook the diced onion with a bit of sugar on a saucepan on low heat, until well cooked. Then cook the seitan on both sides, and add the sauce for the last minute.
4.Serve with a side salad and mashed sweet potatoes.
